Cleaning Up Springfield of Excess Paperwork
By Debbie Shelton
SVP, West Wabash and Montvale Branch
Vehicles lined up continually throughout the morning, where drivers jumped out and opened their trunks to get rid of bags and boxes full of confidential documents that were tossed into containers and sent through the on-site shredding machine, courtesy of Affordable Shred.
Wabash’s shred event on Tuesday was just one of many Customer Appreciation Events being held at INB branches across central Illinois every day this week. Through the events, we hope to convey our deep gratitude for customer loyalty. We love being able to host events like this, where we can provide our customers with a service to make their lives more convenient and express how much we value our relationships with them.
INB shred events are free, but at this week’s events, we are collecting donations to benefit the Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign. Donations will be used to purchase yarn from which red newborn hats will be created and distributed to local hospitals. Bloomington donations will benefit The Baby Fold. Mt. Pulaski donations will benefit PASE – in memory of Caleb Coogan.
Additional shred events:
- Friday, Oct. 20, at INB’s Bloomington branch from 3-5 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 20, at INB’s Pleasant Plains’ branch from 4-6 p.m. I
- Saturday, Oct. 21, at NB branches in Chatham and Mt. Pulaski from 9-11 a.m.
Successful shreds have already been held at INB’s branches on Dirksen Parkway and in Montvale Plaza; with more than 4,000 pounds of paper shred between the two events.
Also, as part of our Customer Appreciation Week, INB is holding gatherings for those who want to knit or crochet hats for the Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign, as well as hosting Sangamon County Clerk Don Gray’s vital records mobile unit, where customers can apply for a marriage or business license and obtain birth or death certificates.
